The Census of Marine Life was a global network of researchers in more than 80 nations engaged in a 10-year scientific initiative to assess and explain the diversity, distribution, and abundance of life in the oceans.  The world's first comprehensive census of the past, present, and future of life in the oceans was released in October 2010.

Images and charts on Google Earth

You can put images and charts on any part of Google Earth. This example shows the distribution maps derived from OBIS-SEAMAP as images and time series bar charts drawn with Google Charts (data from OBIS-SEAMAP). Although the charts are fixed on screen in this example, you can attach charts to placemarks (fixed on globe).
